Toronto, with the world's tallest free standing structure, known as the CN TOWER contributed as well. The events started with the French Ambassador to Canada launching the festivities by performing a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the doors and welcome people personally to the exhibition of paintings by LAURENCE CHERNIAK. The paintings were featured in two locations in the CN TOWER. The main entrance lobby of the CN tower as well as up in the revolving restaurant 110 stories above the streets of Toronto. The ambassador also purchased one of the pieces. The exhibition was wonderfully received and the show was extended an additional 3 months to July 31st 1989. |
